Honley Train Station Development Project - MP Jason McCartney met with the group to find out more about the project.

First news of the development of the railway station at Honley near Holmfirth West Yorkshire on the popular Huddersfield to Sheffield line.  The plans - to create a safer, more accessible and passenger friendly station to benefit the local and wider communities -  are yet to be disclosed to the public in detail but have been positively reviewed by local MP Jason McCartney.

Over the last year Honley High School has been working jointly on the scheme with the Rotary Club of Holmfirth, Northern Rail, Network Rail, The Penistone Line Partnership, ONE17 Architects & Interior Designers and the Huddersfield, Penistone and Sheffield Rail User Group. Despite the freezing weather local MP Jason McCartney met with the group at the station itself to find out more about the project and gave a very enthusiastic response to the plans.

Caroline Lee, Trust Partner for ONE17 and Governor at Honley High School said "As Trust Partners at Honley High School we are delighted to be part of the Honley Train Station Development Project”
